This July we are running a training course to teach surgeons in the use of large bearings in ceramic. With none of the wear and particle problems associated with metal-on-metal, and with all the benefits of large bearings (range of movement, dislocation reduction, wear properties) ceramics offer huge potential for the future for young (and young at heart!) active patients.
